Per Aspera Ad Astra

Hardship- a state or instance of serious continued difficulty or misfortune. Someone had it right to make our university’s motto “per aspera ad astra” or in English “through hardship to the stars”.  

To my graduating self:

Congratulations, class of 2017. This issue of the Stute is dedicated to you, but as selfish as I am, I’ll take this opportunity to write a letter to myself in four years, for when I graduate in 2020.

Reality check

Life always has an interesting way of working itself out. The anxieties of not knowing what you’re doing, which people will you keep in touch with, where you’re living, and so on about post graduation can really add up when the clock is severely ticking down to May 24.

SAVE Earth Day celebration

On Wednesday, April 26th, SAVE, in collaboration with the Entertainment Committee, Engineers for a Sustainable World, and the Student Faculty Alliance, hosted an Earth Day Celebration Event in Bissinger.

What’s your utopia?

Utopia gets a bad rap. If someone calls you or your idea “utopian,” they usually mean it as an insult, a synonym for naïve and unrealistic.

Stevens College Republicans organized Dinesh D’Souza, a former policy adviser to Ronald Reagan and prominent conservative commentator, to bring his “D’Souza Unchained” lecture series to campus this past Wednesday, April 26.
