Isabella is the current Editor in Chief of The Stute. She is a fourth-year industrial and systems engineering student at Stevens and has been a part of The Stute since February 2022.
Two weeks ago, The Stute held its E-board elections, where I was nominated for a second term as Editor-in-Chief. I’m super excited about this opportunity to learn from my last term and move forward with new goals.
I’ve always had a fascination with some of the sillier holidays we have in the U.S. I mean, who wouldn’t love staying up till the wee hours for daylight savings, throwing half-birthday parties, or going all out for Super Bowl Sunday?
Welcome back to the Spring semester! While the Stevens student body has been on break for the past month, The Stute has been diligently working behind the scenes in preparation for this semester.
As we wrap up the semester with The Stute’s 121st volume, I am excited to reflect on the incredible year we’ve had so far, producing 14 issues that surpassed my expectations.
For an excruciating seven weeks, The Stute found itself in the midst of a mid-semester crisis, with our delivery person stepping down from their position unexpectedly.
Over Thanksgiving break, I spent much of my time at my grandma’s house, where the prevailing entertainment was an endless broadcast of football matches.
In recent weeks, the absence of my editorial on these pages hasn’t solely been due to my usual lack of enthusiasm for writing.

On Monday, October 9, President Farvardin sent a school-wide email that I found very disappointing. It was sent as a timely response to the recently declared war in Israel, urging students to “foster kindness, support and appreciation for others and to model inclusivity and compassion” and directing them towards available mental health support resources.
