It is the beginning of a new academic year here at Stevens. There are more Freshmen than ever before, classes are already bustling with eager new students, and already, The Office of Residence Life is upsetting the populace.

While most students were busy with co-op, classes, or relaxing at home over the summer, the Stevens IT department began its ambitious network project to replace its 10+ year old wireless system.
A big welcome to the Class of 2018! By now, the majority of you have either settled into the meal plan, are burning through your Duckbills, or have adjusted to feeding yourself, also known as a combination of irresponsible food choices and mostly eating out.
In celebration of the Fall 2014 semester, Monday night August 25 marked the sixth annual Kick-off Fiesta in Walker Gym. Residence Life plastered posters on the walls of each hall, sent colorful flyers under the doors of every room, and even went as far as creating sidewalk chalk art on Whitpen Walk of peppers in sombreros in order to advertise effectively.
After four years as an undergraduate student attending Stevens Institute of Technology, Laura Lemke of Merrick, New York has been named the valedictorian of the Class of 2014.
I lack the tribalism gene. I don’t identify strongly, emotionally, with clusterings of people, whether nation, hometown, religion, ethnic group, profession or sports team (although long ago I endured the horror of being a Mets fan).
