This year, physicists are celebrating the 100th anniversary of general relativity, Einstein’s theory of gravity. Although I’m an Einstein fan, I feel compelled to deplore one aspect of his legacy: the widespread belief that science and common sense are incompatible.
I have been around the block here at Stevens. I’ve participated in the newspaper, I am a part of an Honor’s Society, I’ve had my run-in’s with the SGA and Office of Student Life, and I’ve even participated in some rituals for IUA, (photography with The Stute can get pretty hands-on).
I never realized how much hysteria and chaos could come from the preparation for an exam. The days leading up to the MA 123 exam were fairly calm in the beginning, but toward the end when the days drew closer and closer to exam day, the nervousness and hysteria for the exam was practically palpable.
