Over the summer I attended a meeting of the Breakthrough Institute, a think tank that challenges conventional green thinking. What appeals to me most about Breakthrough is its optimism, which motivates activism better than pessimism and is warranted by human progress.
From consoling struggling students in his office to organizing events that help students relieve stress and be active citizens on campus, Kenneth Nilsen, dean of students at the Undergraduate Student Life is here to make sure that students are open to the full freshman experience.
I had the pleasure of speaking to the Coordinator of Student Life, Chris Shemanski. I’m sure many readers, myself included, are skeptical as to what a “Coordinator of Student Life” does on campus, as well as how they feel about campus life.
