I just finished the end of The Mandalorian season three and I enjoyed it. There were plenty of action sequences, fun Grogu action, and I thought the return of Moff Gideon was pretty cool.

Video game movies have largely been pretty massive failures in terms of both critical reception and box office success. Films like Doom and Alone in the Dark were both panned by critics and audiences alike, and both failed to make their budgets back at the box office.

I like to think I’m pretty well-versed in movie genres. I’ll watch pretty much anything and, although I may not enjoy everything I watch, I can always appreciate it.

If you told me a few years ago that the first movie to be dedicated to the late Ray Liotta, the star of classic films such as Goodfellas and Field of Dreams, would be about the killing spree that a bear embarks on after ingesting cocaine, I probably wouldn’t have believed you.

With the Oscars fast approaching, I’ve set myself the goal of watching every film nominated for best picture before the award show.

The way a movie is shot can go a long way in creating a memorable viewing experience. Last semester I reviewed the war epic 1917, which was shot in such a way as to make the entire two hour film seem like one unbroken shot.

At this point, I will watch anything that A24 puts out. From Hereditary to Uncut Gems to Everything, Everywhere, All at Once, even if I don’t fully understand or enjoy every one of their films, I always leave with something to think about or am impressed by a new film technique I’ve never quite seen done before.

To be entirely honest, I was unsure about how I would like the new Avatar. Although I appreciated the beauty of the first movie, I felt like they focused entirely too much on the politics of the story and should’ve spent more time discovering the world of Pandora.
