Molla and Castellanos win SGA election

This November, Samantha Molla and Adrian Castellanos were elected as President and Vice President of Operations by the student body. Soon after the election, the Molla administration selected the members of their cabinet, with Hailey Tanner as the new Vice President of Student Interests, Christian Bonavita as the Vice President of Finance, Andrea Maria Diaz-Gonzalez as Secretary, and Anthony Tesori as the Vice President of Academic Affairs.

Current State of the SGA Senate

The Student Government Association (SGA) is a student-run organization that serves to represent the needs of the undergraduate student body. The SGA consists of committees comprised of Senators which are overseen by the SGA cabinet.

SGA to change line item funding policy for sports

The Student Government Association (SGA) has recently been renovating the system by which club sports are receiving funding. The current system grants Director of Campus Recreation John Maurizi a predetermined amount of money determined by historical need, which he then distributes, whereas the new system will be more heavily regulated by the SGA.

E.J. Hannah and Jason Buckman

Hannah is a sophomore who works as an on-campus RA in Castle Point Hall and as an Academic Support Center peer tutor, serves as the Treasurer for the Stevens Climbing Team, the Secretary for the Middle Eastern Student Association (MESA), a “DAL PAL,” and is a member of the workshop and training committee for the Stevens 150 for 150 service initiative.

Student Government will consider an update to budget policy

Updates to the current Student Government budgeting policy are being proposed to the SGA. Mark Krupinski, the Senator who wrote the proposal, explained that much of the changes being made to the budgeting policy can be summarized as “moving a lot of subjective amounts from the guideline sections to the rules section of the budgeting policy,” and that this shift “limits the discretion that the budget committee has and makes budgeting more uniform for all student organizations.”
