A little while ago (about 4 years), I spent my first year as a Stevens student. It was a lot different from any other first-year college experience, mainly due to the large restrictions placed (the main one being that only first-year students were permitted on campus, and even that was optional).

This piece is mostly coming from the (almost retired) student leader in me. Especially if you are balancing multiple leadership roles, this has to be the most important lesson.
For whatever reason, and I know that at least people who I am close with agree, the spring semester is always so much more packed than the fall.

As we’re scarily one-fifth of the way through the semester, I have taken some time to reflect on the past few weeks, as well as my entire college experience, seeing how it will be coming to an end so soon.
Often, I’ve been told that I am a plethora of (mostly useless) information when it comes to some (sometimes useful) things.
The end of the semester (and year) certainly comes with a range of a lot of different emotions. What I’ve most frequently referenced to people who ask how I’m doing since we’ve come back from Thanksgiving break is a meme that keeps popping up on my Instagram feed lately.
Asking for help is something that I have previously viewed as a weakness, but now know is a skill that only the strongest of people possess.
With Halloween having just ended and Thanksgiving and winter holidays coming up soon, it can be difficult to stay on top of your assignments with all of the upcoming excitement.
