I’m so glad I came to Snevets!

During High School, I participated in several clubs, including Hockey, Robotics Club, and Intramural Lacrosse. It was a great time in my life, and it was so easy! Each one of my classes took a few minutes, and usually, I could do my homework in class. Coming to Snevets, I’m so glad to find that nothing has changed since High School.

Despite being one of the best Institutions in the nation for STEM majors, it’s really easy and efficient to do work during class. Most of my professors are really boring, so I don’t listen to them during class. Instead, I’ll put Netflix on my laptop in picture-in-picture mode, so that nobody sitting behind me thinks that I’m lazy or not paying attention. The other half of my screen has an open Google doc where I write fanfiction about Attila the Duck. I’ve attached a Haiku that I wrote about our favorite duck below:

It’s Attila the Duck, \ Massive fluffy swimming duck man, \ This is the best school!

The reason that I love Attila so much is because he’s representative of our collective School Spirit. Over the course of this past semester, I haven’t seen anything that has lowered my opinion of our wonderful school.

First and foremost, I love the construction that pervades every corner of our campus. The fences that obstruct my view on River Street are my new favorite since they’re there to protect the new trees that haven’t been planted yet. I’m really quite sad that they’ll be finishing construction on the University Towers soon since it means that I won’t be able to see concrete and metal strewn about, or hear the wonderful sounds of jackhammers as the work progresses.

Secondly, I love our administration. The completely logical decisions of the administration always fill me with pride. I have never witnessed a blunder on the part of any Snevets administrator. Although it was before my time, the best decision in recent memory was to put showers in the basement of Gateway South. I also really loved how they handled the situation with the Gianforte Family Academic Center; students kept bickering about the name, so the administration didn’t listen and took Gianforte’s money anyway. This way, everybody is happy!

Finally, I love the flowers that Snevets plants every year. For some reason, the flowers are planted approximately around the time that high schoolers are visiting campus and are soon removed after they leave. It’s so nice to see such attention to detail! I hope that all the students that visit will choose Snevets as their number one choice!

I could go on for ages about all the things that I love about Snevets. I love how the Howe building was built wrong, making it a wind tunnel. I love how there never seems to be soap in any of the soap dispensers in Babbio or Burchard. I love how the administration constantly sends emails about incredibly irrelevant things to the entire student body. I love how Snevets manages to coerce students to stay for another year or two for co-op or a Master’s. I love how the meal plan is required for students who live in leased housing, and how the meal plan makes no sense whatsoever. But most of all, I love how President Narfarvar makes more in a month than I could hope to make in a year. I know for a fact that he deserves it!

I’m sure that as I continue to spend time here, there won’t be anything that will change my opinion of the wonderful school that we all attend together. I’m looking forward to my next 5 years here!
