SAVE starts Earth Week with Terrarium Night

As a start to Earth Week, on Tuesday, April 17, Sustainability, Activism, Volunteering, & Engineering (SAVE) hosted Terrarium Night in Jacobus Lounge. SAVE provided various glass containers, succulents, soil, pebbles, and decorations to all attendees.

The President of SAVE, Johanna Pluymers, described Terrarium Night by stating that this event “brings everyone together to raise awareness for the club and how everyone should be more sustainable and sends everyone home with a nice little terrarium.”

SAVE also had members of the Hoboken chapter of the Climate Mobilization group speak to the students and show a documentary about climate change titled How to Let Go of the World and Love All the Things Climate Can’t Change. The Climate Mobilization group has been able to push green legislation in Hoboken and bought screening rights for the aforementioned film to show Stevens students at SAVE’s event.

SAVE also has an E-Board position, Committee on Student Interests Representative, which requires the student occupying the position to go to meetings about sustainability with the Hoboken Green Team and the Climate Mobilization group.

SAVE continued the celebration of Earth Week by hosting more events, including Earth Day and a documentary screening, throughout the week.
