Gazing across the Hudson River, everything seems in place. The Empire State building emits its various color combinations of lights, and the Chrysler building sits quietly in the distance.

I hate September 11. Too many rotten memories.
Of course, I don’t have any “exciting” stories, if you could call them that; I was in the third grade and in Michigan when the attacks occurred.
I’ve never understood the appeal of preaching to the converted. What’s the point? Why bother bashing believers in ghosts, homeopathy and Allah or non-believers in global-warming, childhood vaccines and evolution in ways that cannot persuade but only annoy those who don’t pre-agree with you?

The freshman class was officially welcomed into the Stevens family on Wednesday, while upperclassmen and faculty were recognized for their honorable achievements.
