Entering my freshman year at Stevens in 2019, it’s been an interesting journey. From coming in as a shy sports writer to a flurry of editing roles to being the confident writer I am today, The Stute has given me a platform to redefine myself not only as a writer.

Trevor Dameika is a sophomore Biomedical Engineering major and has been a member of the Stute for two years and is the News Editor of the Stute. Trevor writes for campus news and sports. Trevor is particularly interested in all types of sports and the tea going around campus. Aside from the Stute, Trevor is also involved in ultimate frisbee and Stevens Christian Fellowship.

As my senior year is coming to a close, my last few pieces will focus on bringing the senior class together with what we can do together.
Now, in my second semester, the pain of the new “University Towers” is hitting me. I’ll give you a glimpse into the life of me, an obvious freshman student.
The midterm rush is approaching and I have about four midterms in the week leading up to spring break. Midterms are a pivotal part of the academic calendar, serving as a midpoint assessment of a student’s progress in a course.
This is the final semester of my Stevens career, but that does not mean I’m familiar with the ins and outs of Hoboken.
When I was a first-year student, I was so excited to begin my biomedical engineering curriculum at Stevens. The idea of planning my own schedule and taking many medically specialized courses excited me.
It’s about that time of year again. Students are back from a Thanksgiving holiday that gave them a taste of what it felt like not to focus on school every hour.
It’s weird. Isn’t it? We are more than halfway through the 2022 Fall semester and it’s nearing Thanksgiving. Yes, I understand there are a plethora of projects and exams still to come for many of us; however, we are getting closer to another semester in the books (for first-years, one down, seven to go).
It’s Halloween already. Every day blends together, and this semester is going faster with ample stress on our shoulders. It is going fast enough that we are already a quarter of the way through the academic year, with seniors’ uncertain future approaching.
