Fine, I’ll talk about it! The Barbie Movie came out this summer and it took girls by storm. No one has specifically asked me to write a column about this, but I feel like it would be wrong not to discuss my thoughts at some point.

When I was young, like 10 or 11, I was probably the biggest Taylor Swift fan alive (I know that’s a bold claim, but I stand by it).

You might have noticed that the title of this column has changed slightly this year from Girl Talk to Girl(ish) Talk.

Realizing that you fulfill a stereotype

I hate to admit it, but I used to think I was different from other women. Not that I was better or cooler, I just thought I didn’t have “the girl thing.”

Did you enjoy writing this column?

Yes! Writing this column has been a great time. Getting a chance to connect with campus and write weekly about what I’ve learned throughout my three years at Stevens has been a good way to reflect on and appreciate my experience.
