Alex Murtagh is a senior civil engineering major and has been a member of the Stute for four years. He is the former Outreach Chair, writes about university affairs, and conducts high-level interviews. Additionally, he previously wrote the campus conservative column. Aside from the Stute, Alex is also involved in Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity, Chi Epsilon, the Civil Engineering Honor Society, and is the founder of the martial arts and self-defense club.

Trump’s Joint Address to Congress

On Tuesday, Feb. 28th, President Donald Trump gave his first address to a joint session of congress. Trump’s speech covered topics including condemning hatred and racism, a military build-up, immigration reform, tax reform, and rebuilding infrastructure.

State of the City address

On Monday, Jan. 30, Mayor Dawn Zimmer gave her seventh State of the City address to the people of Hoboken. The event kicked off with opening remarks from assemblywoman Anette Chaparro and a performance by the Garden Street School of Performing Arts.

On Tuesday, Nov. 15, Tim Urban came to speak to the Stevens students, faculty, and staff. Urban’s presentation, entitled Mars, Superintelligent AI, and Other Not Normal Things About the Future, covered a wide range of topics, starting with income inequality and ending with a realization of the our place in the future.
