A euphoric sense of fashion

By now most of you have heard of or are watching the hit TV show Euphoria. The show, aired in 2019 and is now in its second season. The cast consists of some of Hollywood’s top actors such as Zendaya cast as Rue Bennett, the main character, Alexa Demie, Jacob Elordi and Eric Dane also star in the show. Aside from the dramatic and intriguing plot, the fashion, style, and aesthetic of each character keeps me coming back for more.

First up is the main character Rue played by none other than the beautiful Zendaya. Rue is a seventeen-year-old drug addict navigating her way through the tribulations that come along with being a high school student. Her style is for lack of a better word, homeless. But hear me out, it just works. I may be biased in thinking that Zendaya can pull off just about anything because the woman is a goddess, however it remains true even in oversized baggy clothes and messy hair. Rue is often seen wearing an oversized maroon zip up hoodie that belonged to her dad. Overall, Rue’s style is generally consistent with that of a tomboy, not just a tomboy but pretty much the coolest tomboy ever.

Next is Rue’s sidekick, Jules Vaughn played by Hunter Schafer, the eccentric and colorful partner of Rue who is similarly aiming to make her way through the ups and downs being in high school can bring. She is often seen wearing colorful prints and patterns displaying a very expressive sense of style. She incorporates a wide variety of colors, layered mixed matching prints, chokers, chunky shoes, miniskirts and even pink hair to portray her unique and edgy vibes. In addition to her bold style choices, Jules often adds bright and shimmery eye shadow into her outfits giving the full Euphoria look.

A classic Jules fit, monochrome yet clashing patterns, and yet another a miniskirt.

Up next is a personal favorite of mine, Maddy Perez, played by Alexa Demie. Maddy struts around her high school in matching sets and 90’s inspired make up and hair. Her entire character is largely influenced by 90’s style and aesthetic. She often is seen sporting a slicked back pony with her baby hairs perfectly curled on her head. Amongst her most notorious outfit was a purple matching set consisting of purple flare pants with large cutouts on both her hips, and a matching purple bra. Overall Maddy represents a powerful feminine energy and ‘90s-esque style choices.

Finally, we have Kat, played by Barbie Ferreira. In season one Kat goes through a complete bad girl transition and we watch this unravel for her through her style choices. The Kat we now know rocks corsets over t-shirts, sheer tops, fishnet tights, chokers, and lots of black and red. She really leans into her internet persona which helped her transition into the fashion baddie we know and love. Her style is iconic and represents her change in moods and mindsets.

In conclusion, the wardrobe artists in charge of dressing these characters on the set of Euphoria are killing it. Each character has a drastically different style, yet they all pull it off with such ease. I look forward to Sunday nights at 9pm to receive dope new outfit inspo from all my fav characters.
