The book you read when you want to travel to France and fall in love

Anna is perfectly happy in Atlanta; she has a loyal best friend and a crush who is just starting to like her back. Suddenly, her Dad decides to send her to a boarding school in Paris for her senior year. Her whole world is flipped upside down. Even though she doesn’t speak a word of French, Anna makes new friends, including the handsome Étienne St. Clair who becomes her best friend. Sadly he’s taken, but in the City of Light and Love, anything can happen.

Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins was the first romance novel that I’ve ever read, and it’s why I fell in love with the genre. I think Perkins accurately captured what it’s like to explore a new country, but also still having to deal with senior year high school drama. This is also the first book of a series; obviously after reading this, I read the entire series and I love it. It is a basic, hallmark movie-type romance novel, but the plotline is so cute. And honestly, how cool and romantic would it be to fall in love in Paris?! If you like sappy romances, this is definitely for you.
