SGA meeting tops daytime talkshow ratings for the first time in 3 years

The SGA meeting on March 29 has topped the daytime talk show ratings for the first time since April 2017.

This episode featured a riveting conclusion to the SGA versus DI group storyline with a heated argument between President Samanta Mola and former Vice Presidential Candidate Nazeeer. Viewers were glued to their television screens as Mola called out Nazeeer for not respecting her and not reaching out for help with the “Inflated grAde Initiative.” Nazeeer delivered the best moment of the entire episode as he proceeded to pull up receipts between himself and Mola. He began to read them aloud: “Don’t come crying to me for help with your puny little survey,” said Nazeeer, quoting a message he received from Mola earlier in the week.

Both Nazeeer and Mola declined to comment.

The episode was highly publicized on social media beforehand to draw as much attention as possible to this storyline. “This episode was going to be important, so we were aiming for high ratings,” said Laura Eww, PR Chair/Producer of the SGA Meetings. “I know that we did not disappoint our viewers.”

Public opinion varied dramatically for the episode. Some viewers took Mola’s side, while others took Nazeeer’s side in the argument. However, a few viewers were fed up with the arguments from both sides. “Where’s my apology?” complained Captain Kirk, a longtime fan of the series, on the official chat client for SGA Meeting, ZoooooomChat. Kirk did not provide further context for his comment, but it may be in response to Speaker Host James Dylan Sun attempting to subdue the heated argument.

Critics drew comparisons of this meeting to the “SLAB” award-winning SGA meeting aired on April 16, 2017 in which viewers watched President Timmy Monthly defend his unpopular “PayMeBack” campaign, a vital point in the Monthly arc of the series. The pivotal moment between Mola and Nazeeer drew comparisons online to Harley DeDefino’s historic “AND YOU TIMMY MONTHLY” line from the last award-winning episode. Similar to Mola and Nazeeer, Monthly and DeDefino shared a unique dynamic as Monthly was the SGA President at the time and DeDefino was a former presidential candidate.

Since the episode has aired, fans of the series have begun to campaign for the episode to win the “SLAB” award for Program of the Year. Fans of the series have begun to stuff the ballot box on DuckRink to ensure the series wins the award.

Currently, Zoooooom is in discussions with the SGA to air replays of the popular meeting.

The next SGA meeting airs April 5 and will continue the new story arc of “The Postponed Proclamation.”
