Biker shorts and blazers

Biker shorts and blazers… wow, who knew fashion could be this comfortable and stylish all at the same time. One trend that has seemed to overflow our Instagram feeds is the countless influencers, celebrities, and models strutting the streets in simple biker shorts and sexy blazers. This look is revolutionary through its brave combination of business-wear and workout apparel. It is certainly one I would never have thought of on my own. However, I recently posed for a photo in this particular outfit, and it instantly verified for me why all these fashion icons have been pairing this unlikely duo.

First, the blazer. Blazers have been around forever. They were created through the sport of rowing and since then have become a staple in closets across the world. They bring formal appearance to previously casual outfits. Blazers always seem to be necessary in any interview or important professional meeting. They are positively abundant in the fashion world today. Fashionistas can never have enough blazers, whether they are cropped, oversized, a unique pattern or material, or even if they are just some crazy neon color. Throughout the spring and summer, my feed has been filled with influencers rocking their blazers!

The biker shorts on the other hand are completely the opposite of the blazer. While, yes, today biker shorts are taking over in their return from the ’80s, they are not at all typically worn to an interview or anywhere in which you are seeking to look professional. That is, until now — biker shorts paired with blazers have changed the entire game! Princess Diana proved to us that biker shorts were a staple in any wardrobe, especially on the weekends when you’re running some errands in your dad-shoes and oversized crewnecks. But with a blazer? I don’t think the princess herself could have seen this one coming!

The unlikely duo does however make for the most comfortable yet chic outfit selection I have ever worn. You can wear this look out on the town, just going to the mall, or even to class. It is extremely versatile. Pair it with just about any shoes and accessorize however else you like, and this look becomes so versatile. As long as you get the solid foundation of biker shorts plus blazer, you could do just about anything you want with it. Maybe try out a neon blazer for a spunky night out. You could switch your traditional blazer for a linen one and wear it to the beach or pool.

It took me a while to hop on the biker shorts train, but I am so glad I finally did. They are truly the most comfortable shorts and help balance any outfit you style them with. I got my favorite pair from Dor L’ Dor! As for my blazer featured in the photo, I snagged it on sale at Kohl’s (shameless plug)! It is from Vera Wang and very chic with a silk coating and ties to close instead of having buttons. If you have not yet tried a look like this, I encourage you to test it out. You will not regret it. While looking amazing you will feel like you could do a full workout. I am telling you, comfortable is an understatement. Here’s to hoping this look lasts because I am just not ready to part with it yet.
