Club Lacrosse battles friends from across the river

On Monday, October 27, Stevens faced off against NYU in Club Lacrosse. The game began at 7 p.m. on the De Baun Athletic Complex. This was a pre-season game, in which Stevens tied with NYU. The score was 10-10.

The Stevens Club Lacrosse team consists of about 20 members. Captain Milton Kohlhepp is a four out of five student, who was unable to play in the match. The rest of the eboard consists of President Tyler Samms, Vice President Sawyer Coleman, Treasurer Jonathan Yip, and Public Relations Yasha Binyamin. They are under the direction of coach Mark Bielicky, who has been coaching for four years.

The team was first organized in 2010. Historically, Stevens club lacrosse performs fairly well. They rank 12 in the Division II National College Lacrosse League. Stevens has also claimed titles such as Third Place in Nationals last year, beating Columbia. Stevens club lacrosse also ranks first in the Metro competition.

This season, the team hopes to make it big. They have a new squad of freshmen, but they’re still strong and hopeful to come out on top in Nationals again. They are willing to work hard and have the right attitude.

The season officially begins in the spring. If anybody is interested, prior experience or not, please contact Yasha Binyamin at Ybinyami@stevens.edu.
