An Apology and Acknowledgement

Dear Stevens Community,

In the most recent issue of The Stute, our April Fool’s Day mock paper, “The Stupe,” is included as a four-page mini-issue within the contents of the actual issue. Unfortunately, the mistakes that were made in this issue are not a laughing matter, as there were four glaring errors on the front page of The Stute no less. In addition to publishing these errata in the next issue of The Stute, the executive board of The Stute is not only obliged, but also extraordinarily compelled to issue this letter of apology and recognition for the inexcusable errors affecting the people and organizations featured in The Stute, and its loyal readers.

Upon glancing at the front page of The Stute, readers may be jarred to see, in the place of the title for one of the cover stories, the words “NEW HEADLINE.” As one might guess, this was placeholder text that was unchanged amid the assembly of the newspaper on Thursday, March 28. The actual title of this story should read: “Students awarded at Recognition Brunch.” To this article’s left, our astute readers will notice that the headline pertains to President Farvardin’s “1,0000” day as Stevens President. While we at The Stute wish President Farvardin 27 more years of continued success at Stevens Institute of Technology, the actual number should be “1,000.” Immediately below the article about President Farvardin’s 1,000th day as Stevens President, the headline for the “Be More” initiative hosts a typo, “oin” being written instead of “in.” Lastly, to the “Be More” article’s right, “Sustainability” is misspelled as “Sustanability.”

It is evident through the aforementioned that there were many errors on The Stute’s front page that affected several people, parties, and organizations, including the life blood of The Stute: the readers. If there are any further errors in this week’s issue or any other thereafter, readers should not hesitate to contact us at eboard@thestute.com so the errors can be acknowledged and corrected in the succeeding issue.

We apologize for any inconveniences that this may have caused.

Thank you,

Staff of The Stute
