Right place at the right time

Sitting on the second floor of the library, I sometimes find myself distracted by the goings-on around me. From people talking to each other to others walking by, for some reason I find it hard to focus. In order to regain my focus, I sometimes I like to do something else for a few minutes before I try doing homework again. I would usually check my Snapchat or scroll through Instagram for a few minutes before going back to my homework. This usually works, but sometimes I really don’t feel like doing my homework and begin to feel restless.

If this happens, I’ll get up from my seat and walk around the library a bit to clear my head. On this one particular day, it was extremely hot in the library so I decided to step outside. I usually wouldn’t do this, but something was telling me that I needed to do so. When I stepped outside, I saw something reflecting in the sun from a distance on the ground in front of me.

As I got closer, I realized that my wallet was on the ground. I immediately picked it up and wondered how it could have fallen out of my bag when I was walking toward the library. At that point, I was so thankful that I had decided to do something that I had not done before by going outside instead of staying in the library to clear my head. If I had not gone outside, my wallet could have been gone for good, along with my license, insurance card, and debit card (not to mention a really nice wallet too).

To this day, I am thankful that I had decided to go outside for some fresh air, and it has given me a new perspective on life no matter how small the situation was. Now I know that it is always important to trust your instincts, and to believe that good always comes from being in the right place at the right time.
