The Stute Editorial is an Opinion column written by the current Editor in Chief of The Stute to address and explain editorial decision making, discuss news and media issues, and develop a sense of trust and transparency between readers and members of The Stute.
I came to this campus wanting a fresh start from the little hometown I grew up in. The first people I met at Stevens were graduating members of the class of 2024 and 2025.
During these past few weeks, I have had several writers request that their articles be published under “The Stute” rather than their own names.
I found myself between a rock and a hard place last week, Wednesday to be specific. I was proposed with an article idea that may have an impact on several groups on this campus.
“How are you feeling?” “How are you doing?” “How are you handling everything?” Are you seeing the pattern? How am I?
A little less than two years ago, I was a freshman at Stute Weekend 2023. I didn’t know it then, but The Stute would become my on-campus home.

Three years ago, I walked into a Stute GBM, and before I knew it, I was elected to the E-Board as Layout Editor just two weeks later.
In writing this final editorial for The Stute’s 121st volume, I find myself filled with a mix of emotions. Although I am not graduating this year since I’m on a five-year co-op track, I began my journey with many members of the class of 2024 in 2020.
Two weeks ago, The Stute held its E-board elections, where I was nominated for a second term as Editor-in-Chief. I’m super excited about this opportunity to learn from my last term and move forward with new goals.
Welcome back to the Spring semester! While the Stevens student body has been on break for the past month, The Stute has been diligently working behind the scenes in preparation for this semester.
