Cases were first reported in December 2019; since then, there have been over 3,900 confirmed deaths worldwide and at least six presumed positive cases in New Jersey, which has led Stevens Institute of Technology to mount an increasingly severe response effort.

Update: According to a statement from Mayor Ravi Bhalla on Friday, March 13, the first known positive case of coronavirus in Hoboken was identified as a male in his 40s, who has been kept in self-isolation at home.
