America’s Cup renovated and reopened

America’s Cup has gone through renovations, along with just about every other dining option on campus, with the change of food providers from “Sodexo” to “Compass One.” The new café has gotten an upgrade with an expanded Starbucks menu that includes more than just coffee. Now available are bagels, muffins, pastries, and even a build-your-own-salad and/or sandwich station. Duckbills or a daily meal exchange can still be used to pay for a meal at the new cafe.

With the opening of the new and improved America’s Cup in the Library, there are a total of 10 dining options for all Stevens students. These options now range from food trucks to grab-and-go to cafés. Eating on campus is becoming more than just heading over to Pierce.

“I like that you now have a greater variety in what you can get on campus now other than just in Pierce,” Nicole Santos, who is entering her fourth year at Stevens. “Everything here seems like it is really high quality and I especially like that the ingredients are locally grown because that’s important to me.”

Freshman Angelo Margiolas, who visited Stevens last year, said, “I was more of a fan of the personal atmosphere that the old America’s cup provided. This renovation just feels like another Starbucks chain.”

Overall, the America’s Cup renovations are being well received by students visiting the new café. As Stevens continues to add new dining options for students, as well as improve its existing ones, many others may find themselves in the Library late at night with a cup of coffee or bagel in hand.
