Some exciting news for the fashionistas of Stevens Tech — I know you are out there somewhere! If you have not already heard of the somewhat new club on campus that deals with all things fashion and beauty, you better listen up. There are tons of exciting opportunities to be enlightened on in the world of fashion and to express yourself creatively through clothes. The Fashion Association of Marketing and Entrepreneurship has been on campus for about four semesters now. However, it just recently has gained popularity. As an active member and Editor-in-Chief of this club, how can I not shamelessly plug it?
The Fashion Association of Marketing and Entrepreneurship, or FAME as we call it, is a chance for Stevens students to explore the world of fashion. This semester we have held two photoshoots to display the fire fits of our impressively stylish members. In addition, we held a mood boards general body meeting in which we cut up our favorite pictures and words from all sorts of fashion magazines and collaged them strategically on posters in order to create a beautiful mess of a masterpiece. This club is sure to help get your creative juices flowing and release some energy in a productive and expressive way.
Not only does FAME hold many exciting and artistic events, but it is also a great chance to gain professional business perspectives from representatives in the beauty and fashion industries. This semester we were able to host a panel in which two speakers from L’Oréal came in and gave our members real world advice. And last semester we did the same thing with a representative from Kate Spade! There is always something exciting going on and someone new to meet. Whether you are a business student with your mind on the fashion industry, or a chemical engineer dreaming about combining ingredients for the perfect foundation one day, FAME has something to offer everyone.
This semester we have been working especially hard in order to grow this club into everything it can be. Our biggest project has been planning a fashion show. This process has been stressful yet extremely exciting. The show was called “Lights, College, Style” and consisted of several different sets of styles that all college students can learn from. Whether it’s combo ideas to wear on your internship interviews, or how to flex on all your friends on just a regular class day, style tips and tricks are coming your way.
