Quack or Treat was this past Wednesday, October 31. Upwards of a hundred people showed up to the event dressed in a wide array of costumes. As the Student Government Association’s (SGA) annual Halloween celebration, Lucas Gallo and Dakota Van Deursen handed out bags for people to run around to all 20 of the Goodie Spots and collect candy. Everybody got involved; Goodie Spots were everywhere from the Mail Center to the Office of Residence Life to a handful of the fraternities and sororities. Costumes ranged from Gradarius to Spider-Man to Scooby-Doo.
Van Deursen, in a brief statement, was excited for the growth of the event. “I’m glad that turnout was so high, over 200 students. Since it’s just the second year, there’s still a learning curve. We ran out of candy in some places this year but we had enough bags – a nice flip from last year.” About half of the Goodie Spots were in the Howe Center and the other half were scattered across campus. All of the Goodie Spots were asked by Student Life if they would like to be a goodie spot; for those who responded in the affirmative, the SGA bought them candy to distribute. The annual Spooky Day celebration is evidently something that brings the whole campus closer together.
