LAA Hosts Día de los Muertos

On Wednesday, November 1, the Stevens Latin American Association (LAA) hosted its annual Día de los Muertos, or “Day of the Dead,” celebration in Jacobus Lounge. “Día de los Muertos is a traditional holiday celebrated throughout Mexico from Nov. 1 to Nov. 2. It is a celebration to honor passed loved ones,” said Melina Dallastella, President of LAA.

Jacobus Lounge was decorated with skulls and flowers for the night. Over 80 students attended the celebration and enjoyed a night filled with tons of Latin American food, music, and candy. Attendees were able to decorate their own sugar skull, color skulls, and create their own paper flower to honor the dead.
