After the wave of virtual career fairs, the Stevens Career Center brought back the Career Expo in person on September 24 for Fall 2026, with a second expo scheduled for October 15. As stated by the Career Center, a total of 850 students registered for each date, with both events reaching capacity and having waitlists.
Rebecca Andersen Polimeda, Senior Director of the Career Center, said the return to an in-person format followed feedback from both students and employers who wanted more face-to-face career events.
This September expo brought 104 employers to campus, with 518 jobs listed on Handshake. They offer a mix of positions, including internships, co-ops, and post-grad opportunities. Attendees began checking in around 10:45 a.m., with a line of students stretching from the UCC toward Davis Hall as attendees waited to enter the expo.
The expo itself took place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the UCC Main Floor, UCC Gallery, Techflex, and Bissinger. Many students were dressed in business casual attire and were strictly instructed not to bring their resumes, to perfect their 30-second pitch, and to have a smile on their face as they braved talking to dozens of employers.
“Ultimately, the Career Expo is about creating connections,” Andersen Polimeda said. “Bringing students and employers together in person gives both groups the opportunity to have conversations that could lead to internships, jobs, mentoring relationships, and future career opportunities that just can’t be replicated virtually.”
The second Career Expo will take place on October 15 and has also reached registration capacity, cementing student interest in face-to-face events.
