I came to this campus wanting a fresh start from the little hometown I grew up in. The first people I met at Stevens were graduating members of the class of 2024 and 2025.

Stevens Institute of Technology has announced Emilio A. Fernandez as this year’s commencement speaker. Fernandez—an entrepreneur, pioneer, and emeritus trustee of the university—will address the Class of 2025 on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, NJ.
On May 7, 2025, the graduating seniors of the Class of 2025 finally experienced their first official Wittpenn Walk on their last day as undergraduates.
When I started my education here, I only knew one other person that was going to this school. Unfortunately, with us being in different majors and having completely different schedules every semester, it was inevitable that we would go down different paths.
I’ve never been the biggest fan of writing, but as a senior, I wanted to use this space (mostly for some pictures) to thank the people who made my time here and at The Stute so meaningful.
I’ve been sitting here in front of my computer, honestly unsure how to write this. Even as someone who both started as a writer in September 2021, and ended as an Opinion Columnist in May 2025, I still don’t really know how to write articles.
It wasn’t until my senior year that I discovered my favorite place to eat in Hoboken. If you’ve ever been to 4th and Willow, there is a small Cuban restaurant called Chango that has the best empanadas and iced coffee in the known universe (not sponsored).

As someone who’s lived on campus for all four years, it really is my home. I love seeing friendly faces around campus and at events.
What a strange time it is for us seniors. We’re at a threshold moment in our lives, which is always a little frightening.
