Lina‘s mother’s dying wish was for her to go to Italy and meet her father. In all her 16 years of life, he has never once tried to get in touch with either of them. So when she arrives in Italy, she is skeptical and just wants to leave. But then she’s given her mother’s journal from her time in Italy and everything changes. Lina discovers many of Italy’s quirks—including love and gelato—and uncovers secrets about her family that change her.
I must say, I’m a sucker for romance novels. The title and cover had me hooked; yes I know we shouldn’t do that, but I did it anyway. Although I did hold off on reading this for a while after I bought it, once I did read it, I absolutely loved it. The Italian setting really contributes to the love story that develops and it is so cute. It was very well-written and you don’t even realize that you are falling in love along with Lina the whole time. Definitely one of my favorite love stories out of the books I’ve read.
Love & Gelato is a cute and heartwarming read that will leave you wanting to travel and discover new things. Even if you’re not a romance-buff, there’s a whole other story line to follow and lessons to learn with Lina and her family. So if you’re in for a little escape to Italy, read Love & Gelato!
