Is retail dead? Technological advances and decreased motivation of consumers has caused a shift toward online shopping. More often than not, most people would rather hop online and browse an app or website than drive to a mall and pick through the racks to find something they are looking for. Is the whole idea of a mall being replaced by the growth of the internet? Just a few weeks ago, Forever 21 filed for bankruptcy protection. In addition, the luxury goods retailer Barney’s has also filed for bankruptcy. These are scary bits of information for a shopaholic like me. While online stores are convenient and booming more than ever right now, I do not wish to see shopping malls and stores disappear.
