This past Wednesday, Oct. 18, the Korean Student Association (KSA) held its largest event of the semester: World Night Market. Although the event was hosted by KSA, the Black Student Union, Chinese Student Association, Filipino Association of Student Tech, Indian Undergraduate Association, and Latin American Association also participated in the event.
The clubs were able to turn MPK and Davis lawns into a “street” adorned by colored lights and glow sticks. The main event, however, was the vendors, who served diverse foods such as empanadas, scallion pancakes, and chicken lollipops. While people cruised through the street, performances took places on Walker Patio. TECHnique opening the night with an intricate dance routine.
The event provided the opportunity for students to engage with different cultures. “It was really cool having a collaboration of the different cultural clubs and having a taste of each culture,” said Tracy Wong, “street vendor” for CSA.
