On Oct. 1, 2017, 64-year-old Stephen Paddock opened fire on the Route 91 Harvest Music Festival in Las Vegas, NV. The shooting left 58 people dead and an estimated 500 or more injured. Paddock shot from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel, where he left a note with calculations on how to fire at the crowd. When police stormed his room, Paddock had killed himself. Paddock possessed over 22 semi-automatic guns and other explosive devices. The motive of the gunman is still under investigation.
