Being part of a sorority gives women a chance to meet friends of a lifetime, create their own traditions, and become a leader. The mission of Sigma Delta Tau is to enrich the lifetime experience of women of similar ideals, to build lasting friendships, and to foster personal growth. The sisters of Sigma Delta Tau strive to empower women by encouraging each of its members to reach her fullest potential by providing intellectual, philanthropic, leadership, and social opportunities within a framework of mutual respect and high ethical standards. Sigma Delta Tau is proudly represented by members with a broad range of interests, backgrounds, and majors. With all the members in our chapter, there is always someone to study with or help out in any way possible. Sigma Delta Tau is a sisterhood, a support system, an opportunity to serve, a career connection, and so much more. You will find Sig Delts all over campus and the community with smiles on our faces.
We are also proud of the hard work we put in to promote and support our three philanthropies, Prevent Child Abuse America, Jewish Women International and Women for Women International, which we actively hold fundraising and awareness events for. We hosted our third annual “ΣΔΤ Your Way Through Hoboken” event this past spring, several clothing drives, and our semesterly French Fry night event. We also love to support other causes within our Greek and Campus-Wide Communities.
SDT is dedicated to helping each member succeed academically through scholarship programming, recognition incentives, and mentoring opportunities. A strong priority of ours is academics, as we are each other’s best study partners, lab partners, and advice for which classes to take. The special bond of sisterhood provides a unique connection which begins in college and lasts a lifetime. SDT’s distinctive ties of friendship provide a network of female support in every phase of a member’s life. Sigma Delta Tau provides the most well rounded experience any woman could desire and memories to last a lifetime!
