Alpha. Sigma. Phi. These three Greek letters mean more than just Fraternity. They are the means of identifying a group of men who stand out from the rest of Stevens Greek Life. Our chapter is a collection of unique personalities and characters who come together for both adventure and hardship. What Stevens Greek Life strives for, this Fraternity achieves. We leave a mark on society through acts that do not always get published, but carry the greater weight of being done simply because it is the right thing to do. Silence, Charity, Honor, Purity and Patriotism are some of the traits often identified with Alpha Sigma Phi, as they are our core five virtues by which we live. Within our fraternity, our brothers lead by example and do not ask simply for checks, but instead provide payment of hours back to the community through their time and effort. If you are interested in joining a group who knows fun and service, our house is storied and a welcoming place for all who enter whether to hang around the house and socialize or simply take a break from the strain of classes. You can know with confidence that you will have lasting and unique experiences when spending time here at Alpha Sig. For an undergraduate in a new and exciting time of your life, you will find a strong foundation at Alpha Sig which will support you through these transitions as well as provide guidance on all aspects of Stevens by those who have come before you, an opportunity rare yet priceless once utilized.
For an incoming freshman, Alpha Sig (as we call it) is an excellent opportunity to become part of the Stevens community and become lifelong friends with people of different backgrounds and experiences. Greek life itself is a worthwhile opportunity that you should absolutely entertain. Later, you will realize that becoming an active member of both Alpha Sig and the Greek Community at Stevens was one of the best decisions you will have made in your time here. It will provide countless opportunities to go beyond what you thought was possible of yourself and to be a more-engaged member of Stevens, rather than simply “doing your four years of time” and leaving. Alpha Sigma Phi is a brotherhood to return to, a network of brothers who give back and share wisdom with those here once they are prosperous.
