Back to the grind

It has been almost two weeks since the start of the new semester and I have already become busier than I was last semester.  Some people would find this stressful and nerve wracking, but personally I find it very refreshing. Last semester, I had many commitments, including the Honor Board, writing for The Stute, and playing club lacrosse, among other things on campus. With this new semester, I find myself going to more meetings during the day, and having less time to do other things.

With applying for internships and scholarships, filling out applications to become a counselor for the ECOES program, and going through formal recruitment for Greek Life all within these past few weeks, it has certainly been a busy start of the spring semester. Just thinking about all of the applications I had to fill out was a bit overwhelming. Just yesterday, I was talking to one of my friends about everything that is going on. They said that it is definitely difficult here sometimes with the workload and everything else that comes with the territory of applying for new positions.

Although it may seem tough at times when there is so much change happening all at once –  whether that be change at school, in the workplace, or in your personal life, it is always nice to have someone to talk to about it. Being able to speak to someone and voice your opinions about your concerns, or even just talk about what is new within your life definitely allows you to lessen or even completely let go of your apprehensions of the future.

I know that this usually works for me. Being able to talk to someone is always the best. I often find comfort in that and in the end, it allows me to gain control and achieve more than I had originally set out for, which is the best feeling in the world.
