Another new beginning

Being able to say that I have officially completed my first semester of college is surreal to me.  Even though I knew this would happen, up until these past few weeks I was in disbelief of how far I had come. Surviving my first few months on campus, I’ve learned a great deal of information that will serve me both academically, and in the real world.

There were times, like those that all students experience here, when I wondered how much pressure I would be able to handle. Between classes, projects, and extracurricular activities, my weeks became quite a bit hectic at times. I loved every minute of feeling the pressure, at the same time knowing that I was involving myself in activities on campus while also keeping up with my school work, and having a great time along the way.

Before I knew it, the semester was over, finals had come and gone, and I was on my way back home. My first few days at home were quite boring, not knowing what to do with myself. After all, I had no projects, homework, or meetings to attend. When I finally realized that I could relax, I spent my time catching up with old high school friends, working on personal projects, and baking to my heart’s content.

Though at first winter break seemed endless, soon enough it was the weekend before the first day of classes and I was packing my things to move back to school. With this in mind, I was definitely excited to return and see my friends who I hadn’t seen in almost a month.

With this excitement came anticipation to begin a new semester with new classes and a clean slate. I know that with this new semester, I will be starting fresh and doing everything that I love to do at a school that I am still in awe of.
