The FeelGood World organization brings much joy to campus with their weekly grilled cheese delivery system. However, they continued their fight against world hunger by hosting a Cornhole tournament this past Wednesday in Hayden Lounge.
Cornhole is another term for a bean-bag toss. When asked why FeelGood decided to use this game as a method for fundraising, president Eric Fitzpatrick responded, “It’s easy to use, easy to set up, and fun to play. Plus, there’s no learning curve, so pretty much anyone can play.”
The event had originally been scheduled for March 4th, however for certain reasons it was pushed back until after spring break. Shannon McConnell, who heads FeelGood’s Marketing and Publicity campaigns, said, “We didn’t have enough teams signed up by March 4th, so we felt a few extra weeks would allow for more people to sign up.”
Hayden Lounge’s floor was cleared to provide room for the tournament. While students were playing, those on the sidelines had the opportunity to buy grilled cheese, prepared on the spot by FeelGood members.
FeelGood World specializes in grilled cheese and raises money and awareness for the sustainable end of hunger. Fitzpatrick recently attended the Impact Conference with Columbia University’s FeelGood president, a conference that focused on issues not only limited to world hunger and extreme poverty. His experiences there can add to the FeelGood’s initiatives on Stevens campus, as the overall organization continues to reach out to new organizations for partnerships. FeelGood is hoping to contribute to solving these global issues with their events and weekly grilled cheese sales!
